Courtney Resch is the premier hair stylist in the San Diego area and the region’s most beloved and trusted beauty expert. Her expertise in color theory and free hand hair color techniques, exceptional business acumen, and unmatched people skills have made her a force to be reckoned with in the industry. She has a natural eye and a gift for hair. She truly caters to those lucky enough to get into her chair. She has an elite clientele and a deep love and passion for hair and people. Courtney is an industry master; she not only became an educator for elite product lines, hair and fashion shows, and advanced academy classes across the US, but she also created her educational program, teaching freehand/open-air hair painting to industry professionals all over the world. Courtney is currently launching her own hair color tray and foil line. Courtney has been in the hair industry since she was 16 years old when she started at an upscale salon as a receptionist while in high school. She has grown up in the hair industry and has worked every position and title within it. She has been at Ashen Salon in Windansea since it opened in 2007. Since then she has worked her way to successfully build Ashen Salon to the magic that it is today- a highly sought after Salon, brand, name, team, and space(s) always full of kind, professional, and highly trained Stylists and staff.

I started my career in 2017 here at Ashen Salon, where I started as an assistant and now am a proud stylist. I am a San Diego native. I'm deeply passionate about all things hair and beauty and take my profession as a stylist behind the chair very seriously. I specialize in creating unique, custom hair colors for brunettes and blondes, ensuring each client receives a personalized experience. Committed to continuous learning, I've attended workshops at Salon Nine Zero One, Erik Guttierrez, Masters Of Balayage, Unite, and more. I mix various techniques per client dependent on each of my clients hair texture and desired outcome. I pride myself on my ability to provide consistent, non complacent, customized hair coloring and cutting. Although I am young, I am an old soul and relate well with people of ages and backgrounds.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work in diverse settings—from an Aveda salon in Beaufort, SC, to establishing myself in a high-end salon in Swansboro, NC. Now, I’m proud to have planted roots in the beautiful city of San Diego.
At the start of my career, I spent some time assisting in a prestigious salon in Virginia, where my passion for blonding truly began. In North Carolina, I was honored to be nominated as Favorite Local Hairstylist in the 2021 Carteret Curated People’s Choice Awards. My journey in the world of hairstyling has been nothing short of amazing. What started as a passion has blossomed into a fulfilling profession. Over the past 15+ years, I've immersed myself in training, including programs with Rusk and Davines, among others. Hi, I'm Sarah. I've been in the beauty industry since the early 2000’s. My journey began in Chicago, where I trained with top experts at Zazu. This invaluable experience allowed me to refine my personal artistry and develop my technical skills, laying the foundation for my career. I also became Goldwell Color trained, further deepening my expertise in color theory and application.
Life then led me to California, where I had the privilege of working at one of the busiest and most prestigious salons in the Bay Area for nearly a decade. There, I quickly built a loyal clientele that spanned Silicon Valley professionals, generations of beautiful families, and visitors from around the world drawn to the region’s vibrancy. I continued my education with advanced training at Bumble and Bumble in New York, further sharpening my craft, and also worked at the renowned Fred Segal salon in Santa Monica.
Seeking new opportunities, I moved to Indian Wells, where I became the lead stylist at an exclusive private club for eight years. This experience allowed me to form deep connections with clients, offering them not just hair artistry but also a sense of confidence and renewal. I've been licensed since 2015. Started my career at Expressions Beauty salon where I spent 1 year learning everything hands on while assisting my fellow stylists. Soon after, I redirected my focus towards men's haircuts and started working at Sport Clips in 2016 - 2019 where I became well trained with barbering techniques while also attending various trainings with scissor cuts, clipper fades, and beard detailing. My focus has always been to learn and master new techniques and do it all. From hairstyling bridal events and makeup, to all kinds of haircuts and custom color. I was born in Cebu, Philippines, and at just five years old, my family moved to New York. In high school I enrolled in a vocational program where my passion for beauty started. In 2007 at 18 years old I became a licensed cosmetologist and started my career as an assistant to a renowned stylist, absorbing every technique and detail, then advanced to becoming a senior hair stylist. Throughout my training I developed an appreciation for all hair textures which helped me have a diverse clientele. After becoming a senior stylist a up-do I created was featured in the prestigious INSPIRE Book of Hair. In 2014, I craved a new chapter and was ready to take the leap to elevate my craft and moved to San Diego with my now husband. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible clients, including musicians and professionals who trust me to bring their vision to life.
My approach to hairstyling is both creative and highly technical. I believe in sculpting hair in a way that enhances each client’s natural beauty. The best way to book an appointment is through the salon’s online booking, texting me directly, or calling the salon. I’m in high demand, but I do my best to accommodate my clients and will always find a time that works for you. I'm off Sundays but will come in for special events and am happy to make arrangements with you.

I want clients to think of our time as a little “hair therapy” session and we’ll map out a plan to reach your hair goals. Throughout the process, I’ll check in, and make sure you’re comfortable. My salon space is warm, inviting, and full of good vibes, a place where you can relax, chat, or simply enjoy the self-care moment you deserve.
